If you live in Yeovil or the area south west of Yeovil and are looking for counselling, you may like to consider counselling at my practice, Counselling South West, in Axminster. I have clients from South West Somerset, East Devon and West Dorset who come to my practice for counselling. Clients who have come from Yeovil and similar distances have often used the opportunity visit Axminster town centre which is five minutes’ walk away. Some of my clients, who travel to see me, enjoy visiting Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen before or after their appointment.
I offer experienced, professional counselling in a pleasant environment which is easy to find with parking on the road outside or nearby.

Everything You need to know
What is counselling and how long will it take?
Counselling is a process of exploring the problem which prompts you to come for counselling, then gaining a greater understanding and insight into the reasons and background of the problem, and finally working towards changing behaviours and actions to rectify or improve the situation. This may not happen in a specific order, especially if there are several underlying issues.
Counselling takes a different length of time for each individual. Everybody has different needs and problems and I adapt the length of time needed accordingly. Some people can resolve an issue within one or two sessions if they want to clarify a point or discuss a particular action, whereas others have long-term problems which are deep seated and require longer.
Usually clients come weekly to start with and then fortnightly or monthly until they are ready to stop. If clients come from further away or have time restraints then I will adjust times and intervals to be as flexible as possible.
